!!!!!!! I ALWAYS HAVE WANTED TO OWN A CANNON !!!!!!!!!.
So when 1/2 interest in an original iron 6# cannon with carriage became available I made the deal.Well half is better than nothing.The cannon is a nice unmarked American made example probably produced in the 1820's. It is a full size field piece and many of this type were what the Southern Armories had at the beginning of the Civil War.This cannon was sold early in the 1900's by Bannerman's of New York City. It spent several years in Texas in front of a restaurant. The iron has some pitting but no filler of any kind and has lots of character. Comes on a handmade carriage that displays well but isn't an exact copy of a correct one.
