On Oct. 16, 2009 the Mississippi Department of History and Archives awarded Col. W. P. Rogers Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp an award for Historic Preservation of the Col. Rogers Statue, the placement of a memorial at the mass grave of 263 Confederate soldiers killed in the Battle of Iuka, and it's Annual Confederate Memorial Weekend historical and educational activities honoring Confederate Soldiers the died in the Seige and Battle of Corinth.
The Col. Rogers Camp is the first Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp to receive such an award.
